    Hi Don,

Safetyhub provides videos that sound like what you are after. We do not use them at my job, but I have had a demonstration from them, and the videos look really good. They have a huge range which you might find of interest. https://www.safetyhub.com
  • Hazardous Substance Location - clarification please
Hi, I believe this link should help. It's a pdf from WorkSafe NZ for Location Compliance Certificates

    https://www.worksafe.govt.nz/dmsdocument/37984-agrichemicals-location-compliance-certificates/latest

A location compliance is issued for various classes of substances which are over certain amounts and in a single location.
The definition of single location is:
"A single location refers to a hazardous substances location - for example, a storeroom
    - on a property rather than the location of the property itself. "

"What this means is, if you split the volume of the substances you hold into below -
threshold quantities, and store them in separate locations (and at appropriate
distances), you may not need a location compliance certificate."
  • How to ensure / encourage responsible social drinking at work?
Do you have a drug and alcohol policy? Perhaps this could be covered under that?
You may want to also include a policy on alcohol as part of your vehicle policy

Ensuring that there are snacks and non-alcoholic beverages available when consuming alcohol in any situation that is work-related is a good way to show host responsibility.
If people are unsure of how much they can have you could also add a poster to the beer fridge indicating legal alcohol limits. (just an idea)
  • New Zealand Certificate in Workplace Health and Safety Practice (Level 4)
    Hi Helen,

I've recently enrolled in this course.

I know of one other who has completed most of the certifications for Health and Safety through SIT and was recommended this course through them.
A family member and work colleague also recommended SIT as a provider. Due to only paying the credits for this course I think it would make a great foundation to go towards the diploma.

    :-)
